    About the Handbook

Enrollment Questions: see the enrollment link on our home page.

When is Ms Bri at Preschool, when is the preschool assistant at Preschool?

Ms Bri Sometime before 7:30 (the door cannot open until 7:30) until 3:30

    Preschool Assistant 7:30-12:30 and  2:00-5:00

    Where do I PARK?

The parking lot that runs along state road 52 next to the high school has visitor parking. It is labeled. One row is facing state road 52 and one row is facing the front of Benton Central High School.

NEVER IN NUMBERED SPOTS! These are teacher’s and staff spots.

NEVER park along the curb in the fire lane.

What door do I come in?

Door #1 is the main entrance to BC. During HS academic hours 8:30-3:15 Door #1 operates on a buzzer system. Please buzz the office and have your photo id ready. The office has a list of all approved adults for preschool pick up from each child's enrollment application. During non high school academic hours (i.e. 7:30-8:30 and 3:15-5:00) when the preschool is in session you must also use Door #1. Door #1 is the only door that will be open, but the buzzer system will not be running at that time.

Who do I make the check out to?

    Little Prairie Preschool.

Where do I put the check?

In the payment mailbox, not to Ms. Bri. Thank You!

My payment is due Monday, but my child doesn’t come to school on Mondays?

3 day grace period: Payment due Mon., Tues.-Thurs. is a grace period, late fee applies Friday.

    What is the late fee?

After the 3 business day grace period there is a flat late fee of $25.00. One week from the original pay date, the child will be unable to attend preschool until the tuition payment and late fee are paid in full. The child's spot in the program will be held for 1 week from the date the child is asked not to return until tuiton/late fee are paid in full. If payment is not made in full two weeks from the original due date, the preschool will offer the child's spot to the first person on the wait list.

Is there a late pick up fee?

Yes, $1/minute is charged after your pick up time of 11:00 or 5:00 until 25 minutes/dollars is reached. Staff is only hired to stay until 5:00. At 11:00, preschool moves on to lunch.

Can I pick up by child early or drop them off late?

Anytime between 7:30-5:00 is perfectly fine. We are here for you. If you drop off during group time it’s okay; if you pick up at nap time it’s okay; we are flexible. However, please let me know if…

    - you plan to bring your child for lunch and are not present by 10:30.

-you plan to pick up your child during nap and want them to be AWAKE!

Do I have to pay if my child is absent?

All personal absences must be paid in full and are not refunded. You are paying for the spot in the program which your child is enrolled in. The preschool is self-sufficient and is not run as a day to day service. Thank your for understanding.

    SNOW DAYS

When BC cancels preschool is closed. We will make up the school day using our built in make up days. See LPP Calendar. Then we will make them up starting in May.

    TWO HOUR DELAYS

-When BC is on a Two Hour Delay, WE OPEN AT 10:00. This is a 2 ½ hour delay. We usually open at 7:30, BC usually opens at 8:30. Therefore BC will start at 10:30 on a 2 hour delay and we are not approved to be open until 10:00. NOT 9:30! I may be in the building, but children are not allowed to be in the school until 10:00.

    - On two hour delays we will officially be closed for our morning programs. (Morning programs end at 11:00 and we can not open until 10:00.)

-Refunds are granted for Morning Only Programs. On May 1st (if the family is still enrolled with LPP) preschool will issue a check and invoice to refund all morning only program familes for 2 hour delays missed. Full Day programs are not granted refunds for 2 hour delays they choice not to attend (as of 2014-2015).

What if my child is sick?

-Children will be sent home if the following occurs:

                1. Fever at or above 100.1 degrees

                2. Vomiting

                2. Two bouts of diarrhea in several hours

                3. Signs of pink eye as identified by the school nurse

                -24 hour vomit free

-24 within being sent home for pink eye, or with doctor approval

These policies are approved by the BC school nurse and preschool board.

Can I send in birthday treats and/or invitations?

Treats: Yes. Please follow our peanut/nut free policy and ask for a current class number.

Invitations: No. Please use the parent list for birthday parties. (Exception: invitations are accepted when inviting the whole class)

What is the Toilet Training Policy?

Please see handbook for full policy. Written/Verbal notice will be given for 4 noted incidents, 1 final notice.

When are parent teacher conferences? What if I can’t come?

I hold fall conferences along with BC. Then I hold daytime conferences again in the spring. They are both optional. If there is a major issue, I am already in contact with you. If you choose not to come I will always send home your child’s developmental assessment along with my notes on their academic and social improvements/goals. If the times do not meet your needs please ask to schedule at a different time. (Specific dates can be found on the school year LPP Calendar.)
