Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship
Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust, Inc. (IBCAT) is currently accepting applications for the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship of up to $2500 for college or post-secondary technical schooling is awarded to an Indiana High School Senior whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer. The Helena Acre HomeGrown Scholarship Program
The Helena Acre HomeGrown Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and support local families who share the goal of improving the agriculture industry. Through this program, Helena will invest over $60,000 into the next generation of ag professionals by awarding approximately 60 high school seniors across the Midwest who will pursue a degree in agriculture or science with a $1000 Helena Acre HomeGrown Scholarship. To be eligible to apply, students must be a graduating high school senior who will pursue a two- or four-year degree in an agriculture and/or science major. 13th Annual Phantoscope High School Film Festival.
The Richmond Art Museum is pleased to announce the 13th Annual Phantoscope High School Film Festival. Phantoscope is a film competition for students in grades 9-12to highlight the best young filmmakers in the US and Canada. It’s a national competition with a regional focus on film artists from the Heartland. Submissions open on November 1, and close February 1, 2020. Ed Bahler Sr. Innovation and Construction Scholarship
FBi Buildings, Inc sponsors the Ed Bahler Sr. Innovation and Construction Scholarship annually for seniors from Benton, Jasper, Newton, Pulaski, and White Counties. This scholarship was created to contribute to the community by assisting local graduating high school seniors entering college in one of the following disciplines: The School of Building Construction Management; The School of Agriculture (majors of engineering, economics or animal sciences); or the School of Engineering. Schools in these counties are able to nominate 3 seniors for this award. If you are interested in being nominated, please submit your name and intended major to Mrs. Watt by February 12, 2020.
The General de Lafayette Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be offering two Anderson Scholarships, worth $1500 each, to graduating senior women from Tippecanoe and Benton counties. Application forms and instructions may be downloaded from their website www.generaldelafayette.wordpress.com beginning on December 15th. Completed applications must be returned by mail and postmarked by February 15, 2020.
As a farmer owned cooperative serving customers in regions of Indiana and Michigan, Ceres Solutions is proud to support future leaders. This year, Ceres will offer ten $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors to help further their education. High school seniors entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2020 could be eligible. Ceres Solutions is looking to offer these scholarships to students who have been involved in the four years of 4-H or 2 years in their local FFA program. The scholarship application and eligibility requirements can be downloaded on their website, www.ceres.coop Deadline for submission of completed applications is March 1, 2020.
Charles D. O’Connor and Gertrude H. O’Connor Educational Trust Scholarship
The Charles D. O’Connor and Gertrude H. O’Connor Educational Trust Scholarship was developed to encourage and motivate students to pursue higher education. To be eligible for this $5000 scholarship, applicants must be graduating seniors enrolled in one of the high schools located in White and Benton counties who plan to attend an institution of higher learning in the State of Indiana. Applications can be found in the Career Center, and are due to Mrs. Watt in the Guidance Office by March 16, 2020.
Earl Park American Legion Post 455
Applications for all scholarships awarded through the Earl Park American Legion Post 455 are now available in the Career Center. Completed applications must be received by April 1, 2020.
Indiana Sheriff’s Association
The Indiana Sheriff’s Association offers a scholarship for students committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field at an Indiana college or university. All applicants must be a member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association, or a dependent child/grandchild of a current member of the Association (you may apply for membership at the same time you submit your application). Applications are in the Career Center, and are due April 1, 2020.
Earl Park Community Lions Club
The Earl Park Community Lions Club will be accepting applications for $1000 scholarships to be presented to Benton Central or South Newton Senior Class members that live in the Earl Park Lions Club area. Applications can be found in the Career Center or on The Town of Earl Park’s website. Applicants residing in the Earl Park Lions area will receive first consideration. This includes York and Richland townships in the Benton and Newton County school districts. Scholarships may be awarded for any of the following reasons: academic achievement, financial need, civic and high school activities, and encouragement of post-secondary activities. Completed applications must be returned to the Earl Park Lion’s Club by April 1, 2020.
Cindy McKinney Scholarship
Applications for the Cindy McKinney Scholarship are now available in the Career Center. To be eligible, applicant must be a senior or graduate of one of the following high schools: Benton Central, Frontier, Kankakee Valley, Covenant Christian High School, North Newton, North White, Rensselaer Central, South Newton, Tri-County or West Central. In addition, applicant must have applied to and/or been accepted by an institution for post- secondary education for undergraduate or graduate study in special education for the 2020-21 school year to qualify for this $500 scholarship. Qualifying Studies: Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech/Language Pathologist, School Counselor, Blind/Low Vision Instructor, Hearing Impaired Instructor. Application deadline is April 3, 2020.
The Benton County Voiture 755
The Benton County Voiture 755 sponsors the 40&8 Nursing Scholarship each year. Applications are now available in the Career Center, and are due April 4, 2020.
Benton Central Technology Student Scholarship
Applications for the Benton Central Technology Student Scholarship are now available in the Career Center. Applicants must attend a 2- or 4-year program/training facility, seeking a career in a field relating to Industrial/Vocational Technology. This includes trade school, apprenticeships, vocational training, engineering, engineering technology, architecture, technology education, automotive technology, and building construction technology. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Watt in the Guidance Office by April 6, 2020.
Ivy Tech Chancellor’s Scholarship.
Students planning to attend Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette may apply for the Chancellor’s Scholarship. This scholarship is intended to recognize a student’s personal and scholastic achievements. The scholarship amount of $1000 will be applied towards tuition costs and fees. Applicants must have applied and been admitted to the Ivy Tech Lafayette campus, plan to enroll as a full time student, and have a GPA of at least 2.0. Applications are in the Career Center, and are due April 10, 2020.
BigSun Organization Scholarship
The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. They are offering an annual scholarship of $500 to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Please visit their website at http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply. Application deadline is June 19, 2020. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.
