Prairie Crossing opened as a brand new school in October 2006, consolidating Fowler Elementary and Oxford Elementary. Our mascot is the fox and is a symbol of our consolidation. The fox is a prairie animal native to the area as well as a combination of both towns taking the first two letters of each town.

We are the largest of the three BCSC elementary schools in the county and serve students in Kindergarten – 6th grade. 6th grade students have the option of being in band and choir. School sponsored extra-curricular activities include 5th/6th grade girls volleyball, 5th/6th grade boys basketball, 5th/6th grade girls basketball, and 5th/6th cheerleading. Many other activities, while not school sponsored, are available to our students such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, KidzArt, Club Scientific, 4H/Purdue Extension Education, Little League, Benton Soccer Association, Softball, and Benton Eels Swim Team.

Within the community we serve we are proud to have a community pool, movie theater, bowling alley, public libraries, and many community events such as Dan Patch Days, Earl Park Fall Festival, Fowler 4th of July Festival and Parade, and a Christmas Stroll including Sacred Heart Christmas Bazaar.
